Jorge (Castilian Spanish Male)
Carmen (Castilian Spanish Female)
Soledad (American Spanish Female)
The American Spanish Male voice seems broken as it won't download at the moment - Mike |

It's a month since I last posted a support question to TT on this matter, so I updated my current support question yesterday. They said:
Quote: | Yes you are pushing the processor to its limits , Under these circumstances the occasional stutter is inevitable . |
That suggests to me that TT has given up and are now effectively saying this is a feature of the product
I responded with the following:
Quote: | I was very disappointed in your response. I bought a device that promised:
BT handsfree
FM + Jukebox
RDS-TMC Traffic
At no point does the handbook or literature say that if I use all three will the device will not work properly. I will not be able to understand the instructions and will tell me to take the next turn after I have passed the junction. Your response means that TomTom has accepted the GOx20 range is not fit for purpose, i.e. not of merchantable quality.
I would be most obliged if TomTom would either fix the problem or replace it under warranty with a model that offers at least the same functionality, has the same map coverage and does work.
I believe that I have been very patient and it is time this fault was fixed. |
I wait with baited breath.... _________________ Steveee

For me the answer from TT is even more a bullshit since, at least in my case, I suffer stattering w/o pushing the processor to the limit at all: that is to say w/o hands free, w/o FM transmitter etc etc.
But I take down note of your answer, polite and correct. I will do the same
Thankyou |

Same here, when I disabled all advanced features including POIs except text to speech it did not resolve the stuttering. _________________ TomTom 920T

Recieved a reply from TT support, they are telling me to reinstall v8.010.9369.
If I reinstall this version surely it will not work with my v8.15 maps? as you need v8.300 to work with v8.15 maps... |

Plimo, that is correct. You NEED v8.300 or above of the TT software (navcore) to be able to use v8.15 maps or above. If you have v8.010 of the software, the TT unit will load up and report 'No maps found'. _________________ Tomtom GO 1005 LIVE

I bought the 720 because it can read out street names. I have written to TomTom asking them to take my 720 back and to replace it with a model which works properly. Don't hold your breath! _________________ TT Go 720 (T)

here is TT supports' reply
Maps version 8.15 are as well supported by the application version 8.010
I will try later just to be 100% certain, but even if it did work, what bug fixes or functions would I lose by revert back to V8.010? |

I email TT support asking how I can revert to an earlier application as the current 8.301 does not solve the lag and stuttering issues below is their reply.
Thank you for contacting TomTom Customer Support
Your reference for your query is 090212-010168.
We do not recommend reverting to a previous application. Also the version 8.301 was designed to resolve the issue with the stuttering voices.
With Best Regards,
The TomTom Customer Support Team
So now I think a trip to Trading Standards to see what they think. I don’t believe its fit for purpose any more. |

Maybe I'm missing something, but I'm running Western Europe 8.15.2024 on a ONEv3 with firmware 8.010.9369 just fine. I even run that very same map on a GO910 with firmware 7.903.9183. |

Do you get IQ2 routing (TIME of day, not just day of week) implemented with your combination of map/firmware? _________________ David |

I think we are all talking at cross purposes here.
The x20 range NEED v8.3 navcore to run v8.15 maps and above
The ONE range, i believe, need 8.010 or above for the v8.15 maps
Just like the x10 range who DON'T have version 8 navcore have had a special v7.9 version of navcore so they can use the latest maps.
I am only sure of the x20 range requirements. The others are facts i believe are true! _________________ Tomtom GO 1005 LIVE
