Tomtom X40 and Traffic

I am thing of getting a new 540 to replace my 520 and still have 9 months normal tom tom traffic subscription can someone advice if you can use normal traffic via my phone gprs on the X40 range as I cant find the answer?

I'm afraid not - after the 3 month free trial of HD traffic the only other way is to buy a TMC receiver (part of the dock) - this is then a free service.
