Hi don’t all shout at once.
I am looking for a new GPS. The Navman S300T if I could only get hold of one. I have come across the make Becker, but cannot find anything on this web site. Perhaps I am looking in the wrong area. If so can someone point me in the right direction? Or has anyone any experience with these units. I have found the home page, and web suppliers, but no reviews or any comments?
Regards,
DRP

First question would be what do you want out of a nav device? What is it the S300 offers that rings your bell? Also what's your budget.

Armed with that we can give you a short list?

Hi Darren.
I have had quite a few navigation devices, all being Navman. With work I have used Tom Tom on a PDA. Currently I am using my N60i. I am a field services Engineer?
This is what I am looking for; my budget is up to £500.
Full Eastern Europe. Ability to plan routes with different vehicles (cars, large vans, trailers) Perhaps water resistant as I ride a motorcycle, Blue tooth for head set, TMC, large screen 4̎ plus. Navteq maps. Would like 3D terrain, I like the Becker Traffic Assist Z100 Crocodile. I cannot find any reviews on it.
Regards,
DRP

Hi
I have found some reviews on Becker units. Not very good, mains adapters blowing up, maps out of date (that could be down to the reviewers lack of experience) as we all know maps are about 2 years behind? A well built unit.
I think I will stay with my first dissension and wait for the Navman S300T to be available.
Regards,
DRP

Navman use TeleAtlas not Navteq mapping. Have you considered one of the Garmin Zumo units? They are waterproof and tick many of your requirements?

Hi All.
I think I will crawl back into my comfort zone and stick with a Navman. If and when it’s released in the UK?
I had an email from them yesterday saying it’s available, one of those marketing adverts. Only thing is it was already out of date as part of the advert was claiming that if you purchased one before the end of January and register it, you would be eligible for free 2009 maps when they become available. (Dec 2010 at the rate Navman moves).
If I ever want take to it out on the bike, I will invest in one of those waterproof boxes (can’t remember the name) & it’s not Tupperware. Laughing Out Loud ‘Saying that, with a bit of engineering thought, anything is possible’.
1969 man walked on the moon, the missions computers were about as powerful as today’s PDA or GPS system we take for granted? I remember it well, ok I’m old, but I try to keep up with technology. Laughing Out Loud
Keep up the good work.
Regards.
DRP.
