Hello all

I'd just like to say I'm also a new user to poth PocketPc and Sat nav.

I've just finsihed my purchases and ended upwith....

iPaq 4150
128mb SD card (256 on order)
TomTom 3 bluetooth GPS
Arkon powered mount

Although I am technical, I managed to get this up and running straight away, added the checkpoint POI software and download McD's (very important!), football grounds and Speed camera POI's and go tthem working.

From a begiiners point of view, I can recommend the TomTom software / hardware. I've always found a GPS signal so far and like the idea that i can take the GPS receiver out of the car to charge. The only downside is lack of documention for the BT GPS receiver.

The Arkon mount provides a loud speaker which I find great - it's easily loud enough even over loud music and full air con - it was way too hot yesterday Smile The arkon also allows you to charge another device by USB or a (5v?) DC plug.

I bought a 128 DC card while my 256 is on order. It works fine with full GB map and a few POI's with sound though I would receommend a 256 card.

TomTom software is easy to use with good interface. It sometimes picks strange routes around journeys I know but easily recalculates. But for journey's I don't know I'm happy to follow it's decision!

Overall, I would recommend TomTom on PocketPC.

Jamie

How does the postcode download compare with TTŁ's own postcode navigation?
