I emailed Blue Unplugged to tell them they could be losing sales by not making their delivery charges clearer, and they replied saying:

"As you have taken the time to give your comments on this and also informed of other peoples comments, please feel free for yourself and fellow forum users to use the discount code of GPS5 on your next purchases."

I don't know what the discount is, possibly 5%, but better than nothing!

Edited to add: Yes, it's 5%.

Could some kind soul do me a favour who has one of these ?

Could you measure the dimensions of the mount - I have a car that has a storage bin in the middle of the upper dash, and if this fits in there when the lid is opened then it would be perfect.

According to the Buy Bits website, the only one I've found so far that gives the dimensions, it's 210mm x 165mm and Weighs approx 800g.

However it is no good for the 530 as the stalk on the mount that came with the Go530 is too short to stand on it. It is fine for the 940 active mount.

Thanks Anita, I think I must have been looking at the quoted shipping price before VAT. Some sellers deduct VAT for us but most don't and the amount isn't enough to quibble over.

I'll look out for the discount box when I reorder.

I've been using one of these Arkon mounts for a few months; huge advantages are: (1) I can easily remove the SatNav, place out of sight and not be left with a suction mark on the screen which advertises 'nickable SatNav' to the scrotes (2) It makes it totally easy to transfer from one car to another (3) Passenger can easily reach the SatNav, place on lap and re-programme if necessary, without a back-wrenching stretch.

Downside? - with a TT1 with the fairly long mount, the unit does vibrate a bit more compared to a 'rigid' mount, but not so much that it's a problem.

Overall, really, really pleased with my purchase - it's remarkable that it doesn't appear to slip at all on a wide variety of dash materials
