Hi all, am a little confused. want to purchase a gps system, i have looked at the various ones on the market. Was all set to get the Navman 4410 but was put of by bad reviews of the soft ware, in particular not being able to set own poi`s. So i looked a little further, result, even more confused. Second choice was the Tom Tom software, but what hardware and what software!!!!!

I want a system to compliment my Ipaq 4150, to be moveable from my car to truck with the least amount of hassle, and with Bluetooth capability.

The more I look the more I am confused what equipment do I need and what software to go with it.

Well go with TomTom3 for the software and TomTom's BT GPS.

If you need a mount consider the TomTom carkit which is screen mounted so easily transferable, see here which will also re-charge the BT GPS,

Ive got the 4150 working with the Tomtom 3 software using the Tomtom 2210 car kit, and it all works a treat. Just slot the Ipaq into the holder to instantly charge and connect to the wired Tomtom aerial. Very neat and a lot easier than having to struggle with plugging in wires etc. In fact Ive just bought an extra aerial and holder for the wifes car so its even easier to transfer.

The 4150 does not quite fit the cradle but with a piece of cloth ( about a couple of mm thick ) stuck to the back plane of the holder it fits very snugly.

I have to say the tomtom software is superb and with the addition of the speed camera software I am very pleased. I do not think you can go too far wrong with this type of setup.
