Hi. I don't know whether anyone else has this problem. I run my ipod through the 730 to my car stereo. The problem is that the navigation instructions volume is far higher than the volume of the ipod music(although some tracks are quieter than others - that is known ipod problem.) When the navigation instructions come through they can be so loud that they almost hurt your ears. Obviously I can turn the car stereo volume down but then the music is often too quiet. Is ther any way to change the volume of the navigation independently from the music volume?

(As an aside, if I am allowed) I have set on this website to receive an email, when there is a reply to my posts but I never get one.

i have the same problem

i dont know of a "fix" but what i do is to only send music via fm and still have the instructions via the internal speaker.

that way i can control the volume of the instructions from the tomtom and the volume of the music using the cars stereo

Maybe the ipod has a volume cap?

My creative MP3 was capped for EU legislation, and flashing it with US firmware sorted it.

It's even easier than flashing the iPod, you can increase the track volume using iTunes.

Right Click on the track or tracks and then "Get Info" - you can increase the volume in the pop up box.

Not quite an alternative but if I get fed up of the difference I set TT up with instructions on the device and player via FM to the radio. It still mutes but the directions come from the unit obviously.
