What speed are you running the Demo route?
Up to 395%, the audible warning works but over 400% the audible warning doesn't work _________________ Andy

In Demo mode my TomTom 530 will verbally warn me of speed cameras upto a Demo speed of 280. Above 280 I only get a visual warning.
Thanks for your help. |

Hi, I have a TomTom 920t and have installed UK Speed zone complete with Liz M siren speed zoned - and they work nicely, thank you!
So good in fact that my only concern is come the next database update - when several more cameras may be added across the various ranges (gatsos, specs etc), will the images and voices that I already have installed be automatically selected for the new entries?
Or, will I need to reinstall voices as an overlay or addition to match to the new added cameras? |

When the next database is released (any day now btw) all you need do is download the same type (i.e. consolidated or speed zoned) and overwrite the existing files on your device. No further configuration is necessary. _________________ Darren Griffin |

Hi all
I have just downloaded the new Tom Tom speed cam database and find that mobile camaras have been amended to pmobile.
I now find that the sound effects i installed do not work on these pmobiles
Any help appreciated. |

Not as far as I know... There ARE 'pMobile' files but they have been included in the database download for many months IN ADDITION to the ordinary Mobile files.
An explanation of what the pMobile files are can be found on the main download page.
To check, I've just tried another download of both the "speed-zoned" version and the "consolidated by type" version of the latest database.
All the categories are present and correct...(Fixed, Mobile, Redlight, Specs and pMobiles).
However, it is always possible that there was a glitch on your particular download and the normal Mobile files got lost.
Have you tried another download?

You shouldn't need to change anything if you can get the proper files, nothing should have changed.
But if this is the first time you have noticed the 'pMobiles', you might want to add warnings for those as well! |

Hi thanks for the quick reply.
I think I must have mislead you with my entry. It is the sound effects I am having problems with not the pmobiles. It has been quite some time since I last downloaded the speed cameras so they may have been added since I last downloaded.
I don't have any problem seeing them it is assigning the sound effects that is the problem. I am using the “Speed Camera Voice Files & POI Alert Pack” from Darren Griffin found on this site. I notice that it says Updated 12th October 2008 but when I download speed zone files there are no pmobiles.
Is the file going to be updated? Or do I need to alter the files to work on pmobile.
I have assigned old original Tom Tom sounds to pmobiles but would like to use speech as with all the other warnings. |

One is Liz, and the other is Crystal. _________________ Richard

No worries....
Some of the other voice packs also have the pMobiles included ("Simon" for example"), it could be made a bit clearer which have and which haven't I suppose.
The problem is that some of the packs use professional voice artistes (D.Js etc.) who made the warnings BEFORE the pMobile categories were invented.
As they did the recordings as a favour, it isn't easy to get additional bits recorded. |

Hi, I have all the latest updates via TT Home and have updated the voice alerts as advised however does the voice alerts work in Canada? I have mostly red light cameras and looking at it seems to make sense it won't work, thought I would ask though _________________ TTG300 with version 7.903. well blow me! After I put the ogg files in the empty folder in my TTG300 it showed all the files, so I have allocated the redlight and the gatso's I know about the voice alert and will try this tomorrow. Seems promising

Easy really, isn't it!
Don't forget, you can run a "demo" route past a camera or two to check it all works OK. |
