Hello All
I have recently aquired a TT One XL and subscribed to the TT speed camera database. I was disappointed to find only fixed cameras. I am tempted to join the Pocket GPS database but before I do can I just download over what I have or do I have to delete the existing TT data.

Thanks

You can run both quite easily, but your right that the tomtom ones dont have the mobile locations. Most people on this site, biased i know, will say they have simply removed or deleted the tomtom ones and use only the PGPSW ones. Thats what I personally do.

... and instructions to do so are HERE

But I like to keep them on my unit, just so I can switch them on now and again to remind myself just how bad they are (even for fixed sites!)

If you want to do that, you just disable/enable them in the Plus Services menu.

I have the TomTom cameras on my 920, only because they are supplied with the unit.

Like Andy, I occasionally turn them on as a reminder to how poor the TomTom database is.

I have even assigned them their own spoken warning - 'Warning, TomTom Camera here', which acts as a prompt to turn them off again after so many false warnings, or no warnings.

My warning for the TomTom-supplied database (typed in for the text to speech to read out) is:

"**** me, I've found a camera!" Laughing

Thanks to Andy_P, Mick_1959 and falkirk81 for the helpful advice. I shall subscribe to the Pcket GPS cameras and play over the weekend.

Shouldn't that be changed to:

"**** me, I think I've found a camera ... although I'm not sure!"? Rolling Eyes

I've just bought a TomTom 730T and tried the included TomTom camera databases. The Redlight camera in a 50 mph zone, next to the company where I used to work, was incorrectly listed as a Gatso at 30 mph.

After just two days of just incorrect (poor locations, wrong speeds) I spent half an hour using MikeAlder's and Andy_P's instructions for removing the Tom Tom camera database and replacing it with the PocketGPSWorld one.

Bo Peep has just got a TomTom 730T aswell, so we'll be setting that up soon.

Regards,
