I have searched for this but can't find anything.

On my old Garmin unit I used Ash10's sofware to give me multiple alerts when near cameras if I stayed over the limit, but the TT gives just one warning at the distance that I set.

Is there a way to give me a second warning just before the camera or if I stay over the limit ?

You can create a second warning on the TomTom by re-naming each of the Speed Camera POI files:

pocketgps_uk_mobile_30.ov2
pocketgps_uk_mobile_30_1.ov2
pocketgps_uk_mobile_30.bmp
pocketgps_uk_mobile_30_1.bmp
pocketgps_uk_mobile_30.ogg
pocketgps_uk_mobile_30_1.ogg

You will only have the ogg files if you are using the spoken alerts from this site. But with copys of the bmp and ov2 in the map file and configured for a closer distance to the camera you will get double warnings.

It is not possible for the TomTom to only issue a warming if your speed exceeds the rated speed for the camera - Mike

It's obvious when somebody clever points it out.

I'll spend a little time sorting it out tonight

Thanks Mike.

Several months ago Anita posted a way of doing this by having both the 'Speed zoned complete' database and the 'Consolidated by type' database installed, and setting up different warning distances for both databases.
I was going to try it myself, but never got round to it.

I did what Mike suggested, although I was lazy and just let windows rename all the files as "Copy of..." when I did copy and paste.

I then gave them all a warning of 100yds and a different alert tone.

I now get the "recommended" distance warning which varies for the speed and a different alert at 100yds just to be sure that I slow down.

It was dead easy to do and as I have use the "copy of..." I can do the same process easily each time I download the database.

Yeah - 3 years ago with no experience of satnavs or forums it seemed like a good name but having had 4 Garmins (i3, 510D, 310 and 660FM) and now onto TomTom (730T) it doesn't make much sense.
