I love snowboarding, and always carry a mobile phone & GPS with me just in case.
I'd like to have the ability to navigate back to a stored GPS location if I ever get in trouble (whiteout etc.).
I currently have a Trumpion TR-G1 which currently runs TomTom Navigator 6 from an SD card.
Although this does the trick (crudely), it tries to lock you to roads which is a pain (especially in the mountains).
Does anyone know of a piece of software (preferably freeware) which would do the job and will run on a WinCE v5.0 based PND.
Something simple which shows the direction you should walk and the distance left to your destination (stored GPS location)?

Thanks for the info SpeedTracker
I gave it a go and initially everything looked promising
But unfortunately it doesn't run well on a QVGA screen
By using the MoveWindows utility and on screen keyboard I was able to get it going, but it was pretty much unuseable
My quest continues _________________ 🔸🔸 Currently using TomTom GO 940 & Locus Map 🔸🔸 |

Sorry about that Delorean. And thank you anyway for trying
I am using an HTC s620 with a 320x240 QVGA screen which is similar to your handheld type of screen.
So i thought it could run ... but if your are interrested and give me more details about the issue i could carry out a specific software for your TR-G1 |

Hi SpeedTracker
The Trumpion TR-G1 is a clone PND similar to the Navsoon units etc.
The QVGA screen is displayed in landscape mode unlike other PDA's which display in portrait mode.
This means the screen is clipped top and/or bottom.
Iv'e taken a few screen shots for you.
If you PM me your e-mail address I'll send them to you.
Also these unit do not have easy access to the onscreen keyboard as they tend not to show the WinCE Taskbar at the bottom of the screen (unless tweaked).
