Will this be worth it for us 910 users. I currently have the 710 map for western and central europe. The 910 is OK for me and the large harddisk is great for music and movies (mobilenova) for staying over in hotels and rest stops.
Since its still on navcore 7 I cant see TomTom ever updating it to navcore 8 so I can use the v8 maps.

Upgrade to the latest map £6.95 + £6.95 quarter = £34.75
At less than the cost of the map alone last month it seems an excellent deal |
So are some people getting the subs price for £6.95 and others getting it at £9.95 a quarter ? |

I think the £9.95 a quarter is for the W & C Europe maps which would seem to make sense |

Could it be because of that little loophole that was there for a few days, and is stopping you going to the next map?
What if you try to put your older map v7.?? on and then connect to HOME does that make any difference?
I have no idea if this is the case, just a suggestion.
Cheers

As I said in my original post its possible having v8 maps on a *20 could be the problem, but, I am still not offered latest offers when I have v7 maps installed.

The cost will depend when you got the 710 Map, but it cost me £29.85 for the W&CE Map and £39.80 for the Update Service.
I have noted that of all the Map corrections I have submitted, only 2 of some 30 in my area have been put in place. This started pre-MapShare and V5 Maps!!
At each new Map I re-submit them - as I have once more. _________________ Richard

Can anybody tell me if Home 2.4 actually works with Tom Tom Navigator (6 or 7) software please or are we left still scraping along with Home 1.5? _________________ Peter

As per my setup below, I had no problems at all. Installed home 2.4, selected 'add new maps' and Home presented me with the new 8.10 map for £6.95 (85% discount, glad i heeded darrens advice to wait a few weeks!) and the subscription for the next 4 updates for £27.80.
So for £34.75, I've got the latest map, and getting the next 4 new maps, which if released on time every 3 months, and counting another 2 months for the next release, gives me 14 months of the latest map available, for £34.75.
Well chuffed!
Now all tomtom have to do it actually start implementing all the changes submitted via mapshare from release to release! grrr _________________ Tomtom GO 1005 LIVE

I've just bitten the bullet (which I said I wouldn't until all you lot have found all the bugs) and downloaded Home 2.4 - Thanks TomTom for promptly crashing my PC.
So when I got it all back up and running again, I was offered update subscription.
Currently, I have a 920T with W&CE map v710.1576. The latest map is v810 and to buy it now would cost me £99.95. I do want to buy it and have only held back waiting for "The Big Announcement".
My offer is - three quarters old map to update to v810, £38.85, plus four quarters for a year's updates at £12.95, total cost £90.65.
Now, I haven't checked the sums with Anita, so can anybody tell me why I shouldn't take up the subscription offer for the present map plus the next four updates at £90.65 instead of just buying the present map for £99.95? (Because I can't see why not - I did suddenly think, "Well what if I sell it or it breaks?" but I'd still have got the latest map £9.30 cheaper).
From what I read here, there seem to be three subscription levels for us in UK/Europe - £6.95/qtr for Regional map, £9.95/qtr for Western Europe and £12.95/qtr for Western & Central Europe. _________________ Dennis

TomTom have confirmed this is a Europe only service at the moment. Whilst there are currently no plans for a US equivalent they will be monitoring its success here and then reviewing. _________________ Darren Griffin |

Hi,
Thanks for the info!! Will update HOME later tonight, I'm pretty excited about the revised prices (I was originally sure I'd never bother updating but some of the prices I'm seeing here are VERY tempting!!).
I don't want to keep bogging the thread down in questions, especially when I can find out later but hopefully this may be a simple question:
I have a 520 and currently have the latest firmware and have 810 maps, through LMG... How much would I be expected to pay? Do I have to pay to have the "latest map" even though I have it already (Despite having got it for free)?
Cheers. |

Just updated to v2.4 and operated the device through HOME and I still have to select a voice when I disconnect.
I checked though the map update system, but wasn't offered the £9.95 per quarter updates, only the annual one at 39.96. _________________ TT Go Essential |

Darren,
Thanks for asking.
Next time you speak to them, tell them there is at least 2 guys out here who would be interested in the offer.............that might just sway em. _________________ Go 720 v8.351 GPS v1.20 Boot 5.5120
