If so, did you also follow the last step?

Quote:
Displaying Speed Cameras on Kenwood units

Ensure that you have Proximity Alerts turned on in the units settings

If you have a unit with the Garmin/Cyclops camera database installed then you may want to turn off alerts for this database to avoid duplicate warnings.

Burn the Garmin folder to CD-R and finalise

Did you "Finalise" the CD?

Do you what software you are burning the CDs with as the method varies from program to program? Some you will see it as an option, other you need to do it after you burn the CD.

Wonder if I should give it a go with the old XP machine?

Excellent. Sorry i missed your post on Monday. I suspect it's the built in Burning Software not Finalising properly or in the required manner..

Never trust Vista to do a job that a decent alternate application such as Nero can accomplish - Vista isn't bad, but disk burning isn't one of its strongest points - Mike

I am also having problems loading the speed camera database on my DNX5220BT unit. I have followed the instructions exactly and burned the "Garmin" folder containing the file that was produced by POILoader software. I made sure that the disk was finalised. I am using Ashampoo 2008. The finalise setting was ticked- the disk is verified as OK.

When I put the disk into the Kenwood unit, it plays a series of sounds- like white noise- and that is it! No offer to load POI's!

I tried burning a couple of different disks and I get the same each time. I am stuck as to what to do now- does anyone have any idea? I am sure that the disk is burned correctly. I don't have Nero software to try that.

Sounds like it's trying to play the CD as an Audio disc and not a data disk.

Was the disk definitely burnt as a Data Disk?

Have you tried putting the unit into Sat Nav mode (sorry don't have a manual here) to see if it makes a difference?

It is definitely recorded as a data disk.

I tried to load the disk into the Kenwood unit in all modes- definitely NAV. It just does what I said, namely plays it as some kind of audio track. I tried burning again using XP and got the same response.

I have no idea why this is not working!
