My Fortuna Clip-On + iPAQ running Memory Map 2004 combination stopped working while out on the Clwydian hills a few days back. It was a brilliant day, so the map & compass wasn't seriously needed but it was a good reminder of the need to have a backup.
MM Nav reported GPS timeout, as did GPSDash. The iPAQ would show a good connection but no useful data was coming across. Switching from XT to ST is supposed to force a cold start, but it didn't help. Removing the battery for 20 seconds did the trick with normal service restored immediately.
I'll be keeping the mini-screwdriver with the Clip-On in future 8-}
