Download Version Identification

I would be grateful if you could inform me of a simple method of identifying which Speed Camera Database Version I have installed in my Tom Tom so that I can readily see if, and when, I need to do another download.

Each database has a release.txt file that contains the database version.

if you copy this to your device or keep it on your desktop and overwrite it each update you will have a record of what version you have?

Sideways thinking? The reason you want to know is so that you know when to do a new download. Don't bother with what version you've got - simply make sure you are notified every time there's an update issued.

The way I do it, is to go to this thread and go to the bottom of the page and click on "Watch this topic". Then every time MaFt makes an announcement, you'll get an email telling you he's announced. You MUST then visit that thread to make sure it remembers to notify you again next time.

I have no idea what version I've got, just that I've got the latest! Then when I get the notification as above, I download and install the next one at my earliest convenience.

PS There are other methods of getting the same result, but I'm too old to learn new tricks!
