Hi kk99ll,

I bought one on Ebay for my nuvi 200W from First2Save. Cost was £4.90 including postage.

It seems well-made and certainly does the job OK.

Regards,

Alec.

It do charge off the USB but very slowly i find. Mains chargers seem to be 3-4 times quicker. I have asked Garmin to add a charging symbol to the screen. We'll see if they do it.

Another reason i don't like charging off the PC USB is it leaves the Mass Storage Drive open and any old Windows problem could wipe / crash it.

It usually charges sufficiently for me from the usb for my normal journeys - if I'm driving for a longer time then I connect it to the cig socket in the car. Connecting power in the car gives a brighter screen anyway, I find with battery only power it's very difficult to read the screen in bright sunlight - and we might be getting some soon!.

It's horses for courses i suppose. I like to use the battery becuase i make many short journeys a day and can't be bothered with the cable unless i want to use the TMC.

Well i bought the Garmin one cos i got 10% and it comes with European adapters. I'm also a electrically challenged. I can wire a plug and replace a fuse, but ask me if an adapter is safe to use with my Sat Nav.....??? I'd rather spend the extra money than blow a £250 Sat Nav for the sake of a tenner....
