First of all how are you powering it? Car adaptor or batteries? If batteries what type?

How long are you leaving it to get a lock? I used to find during poor weather it can take a bit longer.

Make sure you have a backup of your POIs and backup your favourites with EasyGPS

Then try a reset. Switch the unit off, hold down the Back Button (Left), the Wheel (centre) and then switch on with the Power Button (right). Tricky but possible. Then it'll ask you something about resetting user data, say Yes. This will reset it back to Factory Settings.

Then put fresh batteries in, find a clear spot and give it upto 20 minutes to get a lock.

If it works reload the POIs and favourites and reset your settings.

If you want to consider a new unit the 200 (or 200W) is a good replacement for the i3.

If the firmware version is 3.xx then flash to 2.70 and see if that saves the day.

Someone on here the other week had a very similar problem with his i3 and nearly threw it in the bin but downgraded firmware and the i3 works perfectly.
