I have a tomtom one V3 which I bought specifically because I wanted the TMC . However it seem that v7 navcore does not work properly with the TMC information . Is it possible to downgrade to navcore 6 to get TMC working properly ??

Do you have a full backup available from version 6? If so, delete everything on your TT and reload the backup.

Where have you heard of Navcore 7 having an issue? There are minor issues but none that would be massively improved by reverting to v6 besides which your current map would not function in v6.

It's mainly just the fact that TMC does not work properly that I want to sort out. From postings on these forums it seems as though the issue is with tmc and navcore 7 application

The major issues with TMC are reception issues using FM and data quality on both GPRS and FM. Neither would be improved by reverting to v6?

Darren,

Sorry but I disagree with you there.

There is a major issue with the delay calculations on TMC on v7. Either vastly overstated delays or delays of 1min seem to be the norm.

Also, have you noticed how the traffic sidebar will display one incident, but if you have multiple incidents on the route none of them are shown on the sidebar? Go into to the map to view the incidents on route and they are all there!!

All of the above worked fine on v6, but v7 just kills TMC.

If you revert to GPRS traffic info it works fine.

Andy

I'm aware of some issues with TMC codes but these should affect both FM and GPRS services?

Regardless, the OP can't downgrade to v6, his ONE v3 came with v7 maps and these will only function with v7 software.

Darren

In my experience there is without a doubt a major problem with traffic data delay calculations since moving to my current version of 7. It makes TMC totally unusable due to the nonsensical delay times. I'm amazed that you're not aawre of this, I've been meaning to post and ask if any of the staff/mods who may be in touch with TT have any idea when there is going to be a bug fix. It is nothing to do with ITIS since I have the same problem on a regular basis in France which I believe is supplieed by Michelin. Fiday morning it was correctly showing 2 sets of roadworks on the A26 between the A1 and Calais (normally about 50/60 mins) and giving total dlays of 5hrs 30mins!!!!! Needless to say the traffic through the roadworks was at a steady 90/100k.

It worked before, why the hell can't they get it to work now?

I am aware of the issue but don't have any direct experience of it so perhaps am guilty of not realising how badly this affects the service.
