Hi using a Navman Jacket with my IPaq 3850.
Have installed TT navigator 6 and it will not find any satelites..
The Disc Spins to show it is connected to the reciver, but every time you start totmtom you have to manually configure the reciver.
I am using Windows 2003.
Any Suggestions?
Any firmware updates for this jacket anyone knows of.
Tomtom home does not find it.
Will version 6 maps run on navigator 5.21
Thanks

Is it the Navman branded Jacket? You might need to install the Navman Jacket driver, available here. _________________ Darren Griffin |

hi thanks for that.
I have that driver but my jacket is the one made for compaq.
It is the navigation system 1.2.
The disc on the status screen spins it just does not find any satellites.
I think my driver is a 3.1 but it appears to work.
The 3.16 is installed as well. |

Ah, if yours is the jacket branded 'Compaq iNS' then I have bad news. That jacket was locked to the original Compaq branded version of CoPilot that was one of the first PocketPC Navigation solutions.
The lock was hard coded into the firmware, indeed it was discussion of just this issue that formed the basis of our web-site some five years ago. We never did discover a way to circumvent this.
In light of this I'm afraid that Jacket is useless to you as a GPS. _________________ Darren Griffin |

Looking at some old posts and trying to find GPS info and winfast navigator to try those.
One post said something about nmea settings which the jacket uses. |
