|
|
Just got my 7110 and am a bit disappointed with the traffic feature.
I get a signal OK most of the time but the issue is with displaying the data.
When I choose to only display incidents on route the list never shows any incidents, even when I can see the route passing through the traffic on the map display.
The only way left to display the traffic is an alphabetical list which isn't much use.
There is also no indication on the map to say you have a traffic alert which means constantly going through the menu to check.
Also no way to tell the unit to avoid a traffic jam as far as I can see.
Is this other peoples experience of traffic on the new Navigons
I'll give support a call on Monday to see if this is "working as designed" |

To get to the setting for the traffic re-routing from the initial page you need to select "options-traffic-options-TMC Settings"
You will then see the "Recalculate route" options of Automatically or On request.
If you choose On request, and the traffic incident is on your route, you will get the option of carrying on, or re-routing.
P112 of the manual has some more information.
Enjoy.

Thanks Alistair.
I've tried all that but I never get an option to re route, even when I have traffic on route and the option is set to manual.
Do you get the option against every message or just the ones on your route? My unit always thinks the traffic is off my route so maybe doesn't give me the option?
The detail window just gives me a button to show the incident on the map.
It seems my auto reroute doesn't work either.
Are you using your unit in the UK? |

Don't know what has changed but it has started working now
Got one message pop up which it said was on my route and then I had the option to avoid.
I'll have to figure out how it filters the alerts as I'm sure it ignored alerts on my route when I tested it before.
Thanks for the feedback Alistair.
I'll see how well it performs when I drive from Folkestone to Dumfries on Monday. Should be plenty of traffic on the M25 and M1 Luton on Monday morning
One thing I saw in the US manual was color coding for the traffic severity. On My unit I just get a white circle with GB in it. I guess this must be specific to the US versions?
Cheers

I had the route profile option "Consider traffic information" set to no instead of yes.
I now get the pop up message on the main map display in all it's glory with the polite voice alert. |
