Very Slow Startup/Shutdown

Hello all and Happy New Year!
I have a Tomtom One original which has the Western Europe map on it along with the latest firmware and both the European and Uk cameras database.
I have also changed the splash and suspend images.
It runs on a 2gb Kingston card which is more than quick enough.
But the problem I have is that it takes an age to boot up and to shutdown.I am just presented with my images (created on the Tomtom converter) for up 15 seconds which it never seemed to do before, certainly not on the shutdown side of things.
I have done resets and formatted the card but it still remains slow.
Does anyone have any ideas on speeding the startup/shutdown process up?

The V7 Startup/Shutdown times certainly seem to be extended compared to V6.

Probably just a Software issue.
