Apologies if this has been covered, I did check the TT3 FAQ.
I've just bought a Tungsten/TT3 pack - It worked straight out of the box and is superb.
However I'm really peeved that I can't play with POIs like the Pocket PCs can. There are the Favourites I know, but I have some hefty databases of locations which I need to display. I read that it's because of the palm directory system, but that sounds a bit naff really. My Psion 5mx has been doing it for years. Does anyone know if Tom Tom going to fix this in the future ?
Serves me right for not doing more homework and picking a ppc
At least 'She who must be obeyed' loves the setup because she no longer has to hold maps upside down when going south |

TomTom on the Palm (which is NOT TomTom 3) will get that feature added "in the near future" - as will the TomTom Go, which is basically a Palm in Kiosk mode. _________________ Lutz

|

Just had a reply back from TomTom
It took over 2 weeks for them to answer (admittidly Easter was in the middle of that time)
Unfortunateley they don't seem to understand that the Palm T3 software isn't the CE version when it comes to adding POIs :-(
The lack of any proposed SDK doesn't bode to well either :-(
Perhaps I should've gone for a PPC specifically for TomTom after all?
----Reply from TomTom ----
Bad news I'm afraid,
Does the receiver support WAAS or EGNOS, if so os it possible to enable this mode?
"This protocol is not supported. TomTom Navigator supports GPS devices that are compliant with NMEA0183 V2 38400"
Please use the following link to obtain more detailed information regarding POI installation.
http://www.tomtom.com/support/ce/support/nav_poi.php#poi2
Will there be a SDK availible for PalmOS?
At this moment there are no plans to develop this for the Palm.
This should be the latest version:
App.version 4.000 (100)
We hope to have answered your question to your satisfaction.
With best regards,
