Hi, Have just got hold of a TomTom one XL that has the WEstern Europe maps installed. my question is: Could I make a back-up of these maps, then using that back-up, put them on an SD card and use them in a One XL that does not have these maps?
My brother also has a One XL and would like the Western Europe maps as his only came with the U.K. & N.I. maps.
Thanks in advance.

No, for two reasons, firstly the maps are locked to the device and secondly because it is a breach of the licence agreement.

Of course it's allowed, however the swapping of data between devices is not.

Yes. I don't know why i answered that...... Embarassed

Just been pointed out to me (Thanks Mike Alder) that the TT End User Licensing Agreement (EULA) does prohibit lending / hiring of the product, so technically he can't borrow it. However i can't see TT kicking your door in at 3 am if you did.... Laughing

or if they do find out about it, it will take them up to 48 business days to contact you about it, and even then they will be completely useless in terms of what they are talking about!
