I have a Garmin StreetPilot i3. All of a sudden I am getting a message every time I turn my unit on telling me something like the map data is more than a year old and I should update it. I have been to the Garmin web site, logged on to my account and followed the instructions on screen. When I input my units serial number it tells me there are no updates for my unit. My MapSource is City Navigator Europe NT+ v8. I have Software Version 3.40 and Audio Version 2.70. What am I doing wrong ? Where do I go from here ?
Any advice would be great. Thanks

You have all the latest updates there.

This has been reported many times before. Personally I've seen it once and there was an option to Remind Me Later which i selected. I haven't seen the message for 3 months now. Do you not get this option?

Yes, I get the option to remind me later. I have selected this but I still get the update message just a short period after selecting it.

Hi - I had this problem - the remind me later didn't work, but this did

1) Back-up your favourites using EasyGPS software

2) Perform a hard reset on the i3 (hold down both buttons and the wheel)- this can sometimes be a bit tricky as you have to select the option on screen - managed after about the 3rd go!

3) Answer 'yes' to the 'erase all user data' question

4) Reload your favourites using EasyGPS

The message disappears - presumably for another year, hasn't come back on mine yet! Laughing

You don't have to select the option whilst holding all 3 buttons down. Just hold down the arrow button with the middle of your left thumb and the wheel with the tip of your left thumb, then press the power button with your right thumb. After a second the unit should power up and display the option to reset. However at this point you can let go of the buttons and use the unit normally.....

Thanks. I performed a hard reset and this seems to have made the "Update" message disappear.
