Backlight is a term I would use to describe any illuminated display on a PNA/ PDA type device, it is the same as the brightness settings referred to in the manual - Mike

I haven't had a chance to take it back yet. Now that I know theres a fix I might just keep it. I was worried it was just my version. TBH this unit does everything I want it to really. As long as I can load my own poi's in (fuel card sites for when I travel) Then I'll be fine with it - I've already altered the menu to show manage poi's so thats ok. So thanks sixhundred you've saved me a trip to PC world and some money(Which i'll probably now spend on the speed camera's from this very site).
