Having finally bit the bullet and bought a HP 5550, fortuna clip on GPS, TomTom software and Brodit mount, I must say I don't know how I managed without it. I spend many hours in the car for my job and this little lot makes finding places a breeze. My pre purchase knowledge was helped enormously by this site and forums.

My question is regarding power. I have a cigarette lighter to USB power adapter that only has one output, is it possible to safely use a mini (laptop style) USB hub to allow plugging in of the GPS charger and the 5550.

OR

Do you know where I can buy a double outlet USB- cigarette lighter adapter?

Thanks in advance

How do Deaks

Have no idea about the USB side of things have thought on that one myself however you can definetly get double socket adapter from the ciggie socket (u then have 2 ciggie sockets) picked up one myself with 4 output sockets have a look round the car shops or on the web at car accesories..failing that try somewhere like maplins that might do them or they do just the sockets both male and female so you could knock one up yourself if you make your own make sure you get the live and earth to correct connection.
Good luck

p.s a chap on e-bay does car adapters powering both pda and gps he does many types £12.99 very quick delivery got one myself for my jornada and wired haicom recharges my pda and powers gps at same time, gives exact volt output and he can be found in the pda section of e-bay uk..

Hope that helps
