I recently downloaded the latest release of the speedcam database for my Tomtom One in ov2 format. On restarting my Tomtom I found it was frozen and could only be turned off by resetting it. A couple of the files did cause an error message to be displayed, and once I realised the problem I couldn't delete them. I had to format my card and install my most recent backup.
Did anyone else have this problem ? I wont be trying with the current database until I'm sure the problem won't reccur.
Cheers

Nasty!

Even if it was a corrupted download, I can't see how the files themselves could mess up the machine. More likely something happened during the transfer that corrupted the rest of the card? (Having to re-format it makes that sound likely to me).

Do you always use the "safely remove hardware" icon in the system tray by the clock before you unplug the ONE from the USB?

For info, I'm using the 21st Sept download with no probs. If you've got a good backup, I'd download again (just in case) and give it another go.

Just tried again and had no problem this time. Previously I tried 3 or 4 times with no luck. Thanks for the suggestions, all is now well.

The files themselves are not system files i.e. they play no part in the boot up process so could not cause the issue you describe. However a corrupted system file could and its possible that this happened when writing to the device.

I just tried downloading the database...

ticked the box to agree to the terms

selected database type

...but the "Download Database" button remained greyed out

I then tried a different database type and the same thing happened.

The database I tried to download was Mio CE, so I had several options to select from - but all gave the same greyed out button.

Did you tick the box that indicates acceptance of our terms? Without ticking the box the download button remains greyed out.

Ignore me, I see you mentioned the tick box, I think I need an eye test Sad

I do have Java enabled, so I don't know what happened. However, I just did exactly the same thing in Firefox and the box wasn't greyed out.

I'll remember this in future.

javaSCRIPT ot java - 2 very different things! i've had no issues in either ie7 or firefox.

if it causes major issues for people i can revisit it and see if there is a workaround...

sorry, I meant javascript

I double checked and it was definitely enabled

It's not such a big deal for me - I'll just have to remember to use Firefox - so I wouldn't worry about putting in any extra work just at the moment

I have the same problem. I'm a Mac user and have managed all previous downloads with no problem using Mac's web browser Safari.

I have ticked the 'important note' box and have Javascript installed, but the 'Download Database' remains 'greyed out'

Any suggestions ?

Jim

I'm a Mac user and it works fine here using Safari and Firefox? I'll ask MaFt to respond as he's the coder and it's mostly incomprehensible to me Embarassed
