Formatting SD Card

Ive always used the standard Windows "Format" software on SD cards. However in a thread yesterday someone recommended using dedicated SD formatting software.

The Panasonic software I downloaded claims this could happen if you use the standard PC formatting software:-
"The SD host equipment may not be able to recognize the SD Memory Card. Writing data to the card may take longer than necessary and some functions may no longer work."

Has anyone found any definate advantage over using the standard Windows program?

Yes, it made one card work with TT that wouldn't before and made another one faster.
