TomTom want to sell the remaining stocks of 510,710 models, and also the map discount finishes the end of this month so August date seems more likely. |

Well looks like I might now have to cancel the order and delay getting one. Like quite a few people holidays start in August - so if I cant have it by 6th August it's not much use to me as I am off driving for 3 weeks in Europe. So if there's no TT720 by then it looks like old maps again . . . _________________ iPAQ 2110

It maybe worth waiting, I email PCWorld today for an update and this is their replay, it may arrive just in time....
Good afternoon and thanks for your recent query with us. This item is currently expected into stock on 30/07/2007 so we will ship these to be with you the following day.
Kindest regards |

i wonder what their previous in stock date was? :)
isn't PC world just doing what the likes of Curry's are doing...
drawing buyers in with tempting yet unrealistic dates!
i think this is wrong, but they will get away with it by blaming the manufacturer.
i'm not bitter, honest i'm not:)
didn't we decide that the only people who knew what was going on were TOMTOM, and that they weren't telling anyone anything?
yours waiting(ly)
GaRy:)

Hi people, very much looking forward to purchasing a 720, but i was wondering where the best deal is? does some one know smaller Internet sites which are stocking them cheaper than the bigger sites. We all want to get the best price we can.
All thoughts would be much appreciated |

I would expect the major sellers to be able to fight to get the 1st ones that are 1st coming out. The smaller sellers might have to wait until the major ones have taken there share and then see if they can get any 'leftovers'. _________________ iPAQ 2110

pcwb.com is the best place I've found - with next day delivery the 720 is under £300.
If anyone is interested tomtom have updated their website - you can now register that you own the 520/720, although the product pages have not been updated yet. |

Just been looking around as well and I see Insight show a unit arriving today. however after speaking to them it's already been allocated to someone They are also one of the cheapest I have seen as well.
Next units are expected in a couple of weeks they say though _________________ iPAQ 2110

Any reported delivery dates and or prices are still pure conjecture, they're not available yet.
As soon as we get notification that shipments have been dispatched I'll post here. _________________ Darren Griffin |

distance buying regulations state that once money has been taken then they MUST (legally) provide you with the goods within 30 days. so if they have your money then you can tell them off. however, most companies get around this saying you don't get charged until the item has been dispatched.

Okay, I have now been informed that GO720 units have now begun shipping. I don't have details of which countries/distributors are receiving first shipments but the initial numbers are restricted so full availability won't occur until the next shipments begin.
I can also reveal that we have had review units for some months now and whilst we cannot use these for a full review as they are pre-production I will create a short preview as soon as possible (only got full release minutes ago).
Normally we would have a full review available but as we have not received our retail samples yet we have to restrict our comments to basics.
I would also add that the unit is pretty good, very slim, great screen (larger than GO x10) and it has some great new Navcore 7 features.
I'll update the thread when the preview is available. _________________ Darren Griffin |

:D Thanks Darren for the update, seems to tally with what I've recieved from PCWorld Bussiness, they expect to receive unit tomorrow. It also funny they have sent an automated email asking how my order was, which may mean that its being shipped? |

Looks like the TomTom WEB site is being updated, I hit the new opening screen, but this has reverted back to the map discount one.
If you change your currentry to US the new units are now listed..... |
