|
|
Hi
Can anyone help me.
I'm running tomtom 6 on my pda and the volume ain't great. I don't want to go down the road of adding speakers or connectining to radio.
Does anyone know of an extra loud voice for tomtom.
Thanks |

I find that on my mio168 female voices are better than male i use sharon osborne who speaks crisp and clear, for cameras i find that the voices with the prelimanry beep are better and alert you that a voice is following, I did find one that i believe on this site that had both soft and load voices. |

to http://www.research.att.com/~ttsweb/tts/demo.php you can record them yourself and convert and set sound level in audacity to suit yourself |

I personally use the liz speed zoned ones which i find adequate, the pre siren usually wakes you up anyway |

Grab a copy of the Liz navigation voice and put that on your device for a try it is plenty loud enough but nice a clear - IMHO it is better than the standard supplied voices. It can be found Here for free, if you have the spoken alert files for the speed cameras in the same voice (which is available) the entire package sounds much better in use - Mike |

If you do try and develop your own voice prompts use Audacity (hxxp://audacity.sourceforge.net/) to play around with volume and timings etc
You can even edit and merge warnings and tones, sirens, etc to create specific versions for all types of camera.
Just play around and see what you can create, use the AT&T site mentioned above to make specialist poi warnings.
Here are a few I've played around with, added a chime and altered the timing.
