Further to the post above - if there's no active mount, does anyone know if the X20's have an "audio out" jack?

I ask as the Rider2 doesn't (apparently) so it won't connect to my bike's intercom system!

thanks

Yes, as mentioned above, X20s have an audio out jack, as well as a Bluetooth option and a built in FM Transmitter. You are right in saying that RIDER2 doesn't have an audio out jack, but it does have BT. Is a BT dongle an option for your intercom system?

Thanks for that confirmation, I'll count how much is in my penny jar !

@Tim - yes, I know about the BT connection, but I already have headphones in my helmet, and don't want any more.

Yes, I have a bluetooth PHONE connection to my intercom system, but I'm told that its not suitable for rider. The supplier earnestly suggests that I keep saving, and buy a Zumo 550 (Garmin).

What's annoying is that one of the main reviews of Rider (#1) states that it'd be great if it had an audio out socket - and that review was (last time i looked) still attached to the rider 2 blurb on tomtom's own site - yet they didn't take up the recommendation from a knowledgable biker!

In fact, audio out has also been removed it seems from the One (the original one had it). I'm glad that it's back with the X20 - and at least I could use that easily in bike and car [albeit on bike only when it isn't raining !)

I was thinking that maybe your intercom system could have a BT dongle attachment. I've heard that it's possible with some of them.

I did ask, and the man from TomTom said if there was one then the secret was being kept from him, too. Apart from even more memory, what could they put on the 720?

Considering the external RDS-TMC units pathetic behaviour within the UK and repeated calls to fix it from many forum users - I doubt this would be made available as an accessory let alone built in for use within the UK - Mike

I wonder why they haven't brought out a 920 to replace the 910? I'm boohing :-( Mainly because it has US maps on it which I have ended up using several times on trips to the US. I hope they are not planning to scrap this model.

With the arrival of 8Gb SD cards there is little justification for a 910 replacement IMHO.

IIRC, hardware-wise, the only difference between the 710 & 910 is that the 910 has a hard drive, which it needed to hold the TTS software & International maps? With the increased size of flash drives now available, it wouldn't need a hard drive to hold the TTS software & large maps.
