Some people have found that if they take out the rubber bung on the base of the Go, it makes better contact. Have a search for comments.

I have the same problem.

I also got a new mount but the TT wont charge.
The TT 510 is just over 12 months old now, is the anything I can do with it or get it repaired?

Check your T's and C's as the waranty might not have expired as yet Wink two years waranty is not unusual for these units - Mike

I had similar charging problems. Contacted TomTom, got the usual do this then do that type of repsonse but inthe end they sent me a box to enable me to send it to CRC at NO CHARGE. That problem was fixed but infortunately CRC left me with a clock and Bluetooth problem (it is now with TomTom in Holland - my 910 that is)
The actual original problem was a cracked main board.
My 910 did have a 2 year warrantee.
Hope that gives you a guide.

I got a terrific result with my TT GO710. Bought from local Maplin store 1st December 2006. Broke down 3 weeks ago, not holding a charge. After a week following suggestions unsuccessfully, it went back to Maplin's menders. A week later, Maplins rang me to say correct, the battery is dead so you need a new GO710. But they didn't have one for me, so they offered me a FULL PURCHASE PRICE credit refund. I accepted and used it to get a brand new TT GO720 and as the GO720 had already been reduced, in addition to the new unit, I got £55 credit note.

The 710 had a 2 year manufacturers warranty and it failed just inside Maplin's 1 year warranty.

Laughing Laughing AND .... When I took GO720 #5 back to Halfords, I first got a Nuvi 660FM, PLUS £30 gift vouchers for the lower price, but hated it, so they agreed to swap it for a 720 again. Only this time, the 720 had gone down in price so I got another £20 in vouchers.

So instead of a GO710 and a GO720, I now have two GO720s and £105 in credit notes and vouchers. I would like to say I was perfectly happy to pay the original prices for all my kit and would also have been perfectly happy to get straight swaps for all the exchanges. I never asked for a refund. The credits/vouchers were 'forced' upon me by both shops, for whom selling a new item and crediting an old receipt meant that credits were unavoidable. In effect, I got a full refund then bought a replacement at a cheaper price. I NEVER tempt my luck by popping down sewers. I cannot think of a single thing I'd like to buy in Halfords or Maplins with my vouchers/credit note. Sad

All this would have been unnecessary if GO720 #1 had worked properly (and #2, #3, #4 and #5). Anita's had none of my worry AND she hasn't got megga flu.
