Updating maps for Streetpilot i3

Hi
Got a Streetpilot i3 about 6 months ago and for the first time today downloaded the webupdater (for macs) and did an update to my i3. Went out in the car to check it all still worked ok but it is still about 3 years out of date on the road layouts, ie roundabouts missing etc.
So my question is:
Is the webupdater facility supposed to update maps? If yes why are they still out of date and if not how do I go about updating them?
