According to the TMC official website, they list Mio as a hardware vendor for TMC data. TMC is available in the US.

Why can I not find any details on a TMC cradle for the C520 or the availibility of the C520T in the US? Will any of the European cradles work?

In case anyone else is wondering, this is what I got from Mio support:

As I understand it, the US has been slow to adopt the RDS_TMC standard (the usual 'not invented here' problem) and coverage it is only available in a limited number of cities. A bit of Googling will tell you more. Mitac will have to negotiate a fee with the service provider/s before they can release a receiver.
