Hello World
Can I use a GPS signal to trigger two or more video cameras?
I want to establish where the cameras are and when the images were recorded independent of the time/date stamp on the units. |

Not clear how you expect the GPS to "trigger" the cameras? There are still cameras that can record GPS locations, but not, as far as I know, video. What you could do is record a GPS log and take the position from the time that matches the time stamp. If you give more details of what you are trying to do, it might inspire someone to come up with a better idea.
I'm sure a Mod will be along soon to move this to a more appropriate area!

What you could do is connect up a cheap usb camera (or three) to a laptop and record using that. If you also connect your laptop to a GPS unit you can sync it's internal clock to get an accurate time stamp on the video.
You can also use the laptop to record the NMEA output of the GPS (which includes a location and timestamp) so you can figure out exactly where the cameras were.

Many examples exist of suitable SW for photos .. not seen any for videos
ie http://www.earthquakemap.com/
Similar to others suggestion .. you record a track on a gps and then use this SW to match the GPS track (time) to the photos exif (time) and plot on a map
Click on the left side menu "photos on tracks"
here is an example of the output
