How can you identify a version of a Map?

Is there any way to identify which version a map is without loading it into TomTom.

I have a bunch of maps which arn't even recognised by my Palm and am wondering if I have the maps mixed up.

I wondered if you could open one of the files with a HexEditor and search for a string.

is there any way to do this?

Open the .PNA File, in the Map Folder, with Notepad and it will tell you the Version and Build Numbers.
