Recently got T-Mobile MDA Vario II with Copilot Live 6 (v 6.0.4.94).

The problem I have is that the GPS always seems to be tracking me about 100 yds from where I actually am. When I stop it catches up to about 10yds behind where I am but when moving is a pain in the ass. This means you always have to look ahead at the map to work out where you should turn before it tells you, not so bad on motorways but flipping painful when driving in London!!

Is it a problem with the PPC not being able to process info quick enough?
Is it the GPS receiver (should I get a better one)?

Or should I just ditch it and get Tomtom instead, or a dedicated GPS device?

I've got a MkI Vario and I haven't noticed this sort of problem, although the whole program does start to chug if I have too much else running at the same time. Copilot, Outlook and Internet Explorer are OK, but MSN Messenger on top of that is not.

What model of GPS receiver are you using? I got a I-Blue 737 recently which is good for picking up a signal in a built up area, and for running on batteries.

Welcome

It may be that your receiver uses a SiRF chipset and it has "static navigation" switched on. This makes your position very lethargic to update and then it will jump 50 - 100 yards.

There is a little program called "M-M SiRF setup" from Memory Map which can switch this mode off - you could try that.
