hi,

I've just got an MDA Vario and use a bluetooth headset for the hnds free in the car.

I'd like to move my TTN from my old iPaq rx3715 to the Vario but I'll need a new GPS to do this, so i thought why not get a bluetooth unit.

But I don't want to spend my money until I know for sure that the Vario will talk to both devices at the same time.

Does anyone know if this is possible?

Thanks in advance

It is possible to have different BT devices running at the same time.

Be aware that in order to hear the TomTom navigation sounds through the headset you either need a Audio Gateway profile (WM2003 with Widcomm BT stack) or a A2DP capable headset (WM5 Microsoft stack)

Wow that's technical!

I have a plantronics 320. I was really only thinking of having the phone through the headset and use the speaker for TT, but if there's a chance I can get nav warnings throughthe headset then I'm really interested.

Thanks for the input.

I run a TT BT GPS with an XDA Exec. The TT messages come through the speakers and the phone comes through a BT headset. The only thing I've noticed is that the CPU demands of TT don't half affect playback of my ring sound! :D

You can get all the sound through the Bluetooth headset on the Exec:
fire up your reg edit software
go to HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE/ SOFTWARE/ OEM/ VoiceCommand
Change the Launchapenable from 1 to 0.
I was using this set-up for a while, the wife doesn't like the sat nav voice - it is also handy if driving at night when the kids are napping - Mike

hmmm,

I don't appear to have a launchapenable key.

I added it )Dword dec 0) but no sound.

Maybe my BT stack needs an update. think I'll go looking for roms.

The only value I have is Path.

That said I can live with the built in speaker, I'll just get some ear plugs for my wife

I got a new headset, still a Plantronics, and thought I'd give this another go.

But still no Launchapenable value. Again I've added a Dword of 0, soft reset but no joy.

My current setup is:
TTN6
BT GPS (1.2)
BT headset (2.0)
T-Mobile Vario

The gps works well, though I'd like to upgrade to a BT2.0 one. The new headset works very well but still no voice prompts from TTN via the headset.

If I am on a call then system noises do come through the headset, such as reminder beeps. But annoyingly no TT instructions.

Do I need a new BT stack or something?

Hi All,

I posted a topic similar to this one regarding getting TT warnings through a BT headset a while back and did not get any answers so am hoping someone here can help.

I am using an SPV M3100 and a Jabra BT500V headset. I think that the headset is A2DP compatible from what I have read, but I am not sure if the 3100 has the widcomm stack. I do have a the Registry Key you talk about and I have tried changing this but it did not work.

Any help you could give me would be appreciated, as I use TT on a bike alot and having headset with wires poses its own risks.

Regards

Ben

one thing you could try is putting the widcom stack on the device but any bluetooth connections would need resetting up have a look in xda developers

Ben, when you did the reg edit did you save the values you entered?
Once you have edited the key(s) save and exit the reg edit then press and hold the power button untill the device does a soft reset - this action updates the settings - Mike

Thanks for the help. On doing some further research it appears that the headset (Jabra BT500v) is not A2DP enabled.

Do I assume then that I cannot use this headset for getting TT sounds with WM2005 for PPC (Orange SPV M3100).

Can anyone recommend a good A2DP headset at a reasonable price?

Ben
