I would like to move to TTN6 but I am told that the display shows the current speed and speed limit in red when you are exceeding the limit (tut!) and as a result the speed and the speed limit are barely visible. Can this be changed or the speed limit display be turned off?

you can turn the whole speed indicator off, not just the limit tho. Its very small anyway. I can't see why this would bother anyone?

I initially found this a bit annoying, but then asked myself the question of why I bothered having the speed displayed anyway. the speedo in the car is a much easier device to read.

As far as discrepancy between car speedo and real speed (from GPS), the difference for a given speed remains the same, so once you have observed the difference at the speeds you wanted you may as well turn it off on TTN6 and free up space on the screen for more useful info.

Personal preferences I guess, and i do have to admit it would seem like something that would have been easy for TT to put in as a preference rather than on all the time if the speed is displayed.

I felt the same about losing the speed display but i find it very useful when driving in Europe. Firstly because you don't always know what the maximum speed limit is in urban areas (I really should look it up and learn it but never do) and also because in a hire car on the motorway, having max speed in MPH and an indication of what speed are actually doing is useful.

This weekend I hired a Renault Modus from Charles De gaul and drove to le Mans. The car's big digital dash gives a chunky Km/Hour readout but no MPH. On the Autoroute I was surprised to see that this little think was quietly doing 90MPH and I hadn't noticed!!

I guess it's been asked before but please excuse me.
Which gives the more accurate speed reading?
Car speedo or SatNav ?

Many, many, times Laughing

On the flat, at a steady speed, with a clear view of the sky, ... , the SatNav, which will show a few miles an hour slower than your speedo.
