Hello all,
I have a problem starting TTn2 on my Toshiba E330. It's more an irritation to be honest.
Periodically (probably one in every 3 times), when I start TTN2, an error message appears:
"Cannot determine location of data. Please re-install data and/or application".
When I click "OK" and try again it works.
Has anyone else had this problem? Any idea what is causing it?
I am using GPS driver v.2.06.
Thanks,
Jed |

are you frequently removing and re-inserting your memory card with the maps on them? Sometimes the operating system assigns a different name to the card (like "Storage Card 2") and then TomTom fails to find the maps at the usual place but manages to scan the device and re-find them. _________________ Lutz

Thanks for your reply.
Nope - I have not removed the memory for several months.
I take it this isn't a common problem then? |

No, it is certainly not common. A corrupt TomTom installation might be another reason, but since it is not consisten this is difficlut to tell. Why don't you just try and defragment your storage card? Works wonders for all kinds of weird problems... _________________ Lutz

Will give it a go and let you know how it went. There's no danger of loss of data / other problems when the card is defragmented is there? |

Actually the easiest way to defragment is to copy all the data onto your PC, then reformat the card, and the copy the data back to the card. Quicker than defragmenting, and gives you an additional copy of the data if you want a backup _________________ Lutz
