Hi I just read on the TomTom website that if you buy navigator 6 Uk and Ireland, Ireland is now 99 percent covered.

I find this hard to believe because when I went onto the teleatlas webpage and checked the map coverage, It is no where near that and missing many big towns namely kilkenny amonst others.

Can some one tell me one way or another if What I am saying is correct, before I go and buy.

Thanks in advance

If I zoom in to Kilkenny on my map (which isn't the latest its version 650) Kilkenny is most certainly present and mapped, showing street level definition of small side roads etc - Mike

Hi Mike,

So does that mean the teleatlas website maps are wrong.

Or are they using navteq now in the later versions of tomtom.

I know navteq have it well covered

The map I used is that loaded to my device which is a Teleatlas product, I am not too sure what they have on the web site, which map display are you looking at on their site?
The TomTom One v3 Europe device comes loaded with NT map, the other use TA - Mike

I can confirm street level mapping in Kilkenny in my Map of Western Europe version 660. I can even see several cul-de-sacs, which look like residential estate roads, marked as "Access"

My apologes,

Yes Teleatlas web site does indeed show Killkenny. But A few more I have noticed so far is Roscommon, Cavan.

I am compairing the maps on the Teleatlas website with those of the Navteq website. And compairing them There is no way they can claim to have 99 percent coverage on Teleatlas if they don't even mark up to the Navteq Maps which also claim 99 percent.

Any way I am using R66 navteq maps q1 2006 at the moment, And just wanted to know if the Teleatlas TomTom Maps were as good or better.

I think TomTom Still have a bit to go to live up to Navteq applications.

Thanks
