Thanks for the reply but the poi file is an ov.2 file, dont know if this works on the garmin i3. Also how up to date is this file, i did see a link to a more up to date file for petrol garages but i cant find it on the forum's.When you download additional poi's,do they over right the ones that come with the unit as standard so you dont get two poi's for the same petrol garage. |

On the POI download page is a dropdown box to select either ov2 or Garmin, select the Garmin then download your POI choice and you will get the correct data type - Mike |

I downloaded the poi file for pertol garages, but when i try and open it, it says the file is corrpt. I downloaded again but still the same result. Also on the download page it says on garmin units you have to back up the tf card with a card reader before downloading. Do i need to do this. |

mars.1 - are you using ie7 - the new one with tabbed browsing? If so, there are issues with downloading the poi's from this site. You need to select the option to "Show As Link", then click on the link to download the file. Or, use another browser, like Firefox etc. _________________ Garmin I3 October 2006

Thanks for replies, but its to much messing about when i have to back my tf card using a card reader. I will stick with the petrol garage poi's that come with the new maping as standard. Even if some that are listed are old and out of date. |

Mars.1, don't give up so easily
Download the Garmin POIs. If you are using IE7, when you unzip the downloaded POPI file, you will see a file with the same file name but no file extension. This is another zip file. Just add the zip extesion to this file and unzip again. You should now see your Garmin POI files in CSV format :D |
