Been looking for a gps for a while and was about to buy a one GB in the sales when everyone put the prices up to 199 again today! I noticed that the europe is also 199. It would seem to make sense to buy the europe at the same price but I wondered are the teleatlas maps of the regional better than the navteq used on the europe edition? I would only use the europe maps very occasionally!

I had a garmin i3 which used the navteq maps and the routing seemed somewhat hit and miss. Not sure whether this was the unit or the maps it used?

Can anyone help please?

I have been using TomTom One v2 Europe since it came out in October. Most of my driving has been in UK so far, and it has performed flawlessly. Far fewer mapping errors than my previous TT5

for same price its a no brainer - go for the europe edition. i have used both and in uk can honestly say i can't tell any differences. only thing to get used to is when keying in an address the europe edition is slower to come up with a 'match' from the first few letters typed in - presumably because it is searching thru a much larger name database than the GB map.

Hi,

Just had a look at their website, and it seems to be back up to £199.99 (same as the Western European version).

Even Amazon have now put their price up to £187.92, but are offering free delivery. Dixon's are currently offering a 'web only' price of £179.95 for the GB one, and £197.95 for Europe.

At the moment it does indeed look as if the European version is the better buy.

David

P.S. By the way, Welcome to the Forum!

Hi,

It's back up to £179.99 again now... looks like the Xmas sales have finished early this year!

As zogman said, if anyone is still after one, it's worth bookmarking that site though.

satnav2u £174.99 free p&p gb edition
dixons £193.99 free p&p europe edition (with discount code)

I decided to bite the bullet and buy a TomTom ONE Europe yesterday to replace my aging Navman iCN 610 unit.

Nothing wrong with the iCN 610 apart from the maps being out of date and the unit being a bit bulky. I was looking for a smaller unit with built-in battery and even more important up-to-date maps (mind you the maps always seem to be about 2yrs behind).

So far so good with this ONE. First used it this morning on the way to work and am impressed with the pickup speed of my changing my route. Have installed the SpeedCAM database, additional POI's from this site as well as the additional voices.

Impressed with the volume level changes according to the speed you are travelling at.

Not too sure if I will sign up for the additional cost of the TomTom Travel updates as I only travel down to my works offices in Dewsbury a few times a year. Will wait and see what the free months trial is like as I will be going down south at the end of January.

This ONE is so small it fits into your jacket pocket with no problems, impressive.

Will be listing my iCN 610 on an oline auction soon.
