My attempts to open the downloaded POI zip file have produced the report "Compressed (zipped) Folder Error - The Compressed (Zipped) Folder is invalid or corrupted". How do I overcome this problem?

Try downloading again, file may have been corrupted on first attempt.

Hi - great idea producing a definitive POI database but, like others, the zip file I produce is corrupt and cant be opened. I have read all of the threads and tried everything from one POI category to all of them - nothing seems to overcome the corruption. I am using IE7 - any new ideas?

Peter - Merry Xmas to one and all!

The way I overcame the problem was to:

Download and install Mozilla Firefox

and use that web browser for the POI downloads - Mike

As everyone else I get a corrupt zip file when downloading the POIs.
I've tried using PKZIPFIX without success.
I can't help feeling that as I don't have problems downloading other zipped files that the problem is at the pocketgpsworld end.
IE7 isn't an uncommon browser. This problem makes the POIs completely irrelevant if I can't even download them. Can't this problem be solved? It's extremely annoying!!!

For a test, I just downloaded the zip file of banks (all available). It unzipped perfectly. Did it with IE7. The only problem I had was being unable to copy and paste the site address (it insisted on pasting it into the Google search window), so had to type it in by hand.
