Just wondered if anybody else is getting warnings about cameras adjacent to motorways/dual carriageways.
I've the warn on route set but get quite a few of these.
Today on trip back from Cambridge on the stretch of the A14 from near Girton college to the junction with the A1M I had several alerts about cameras on roads running close/parallel to the A14.
Have also had this on the M60 round Manchester (IIRC round Denton area).
As far as I can recall this wasn't a problem when I used the single consolidated file. |

Always had that, I use the set of 5 or 6 files |

Yes, I get this a lot, especially for mobiles on a roundabout just off the slip road.
I'm sure it happens more than it used to, and I was quick to assume it was caused by newer software versions, but others said that it has always happened.
So in my case I think it must be down to either:
1. lots more mobile sites in the database now, or
2. that on advice from here, I've made the warning distances for mobiles much larger so it "catches" more. |

Yep I get it too, shortening the warning distance cuts some out, the system works on straight line so if there's a camera within the distance you specify, in front to the side etc, it will give a warning. I find it's not too bad as it shows where the camera is so it's clear whether it's on your route or not. |

I'd have thought that if the warn on route was working correctly it shouldn't matter if the cam is inside the warning distance but not on route.
From what I recall this only became an issue whwn I changed to the speed zone DB with I used with the old version of the software. The consolidated didn't do this as far as I can remember.
Agree its not a problem as the cam is displayed and wouldn't want to shorten the warning distance as at 70(ish) too short a distance would not allow time for adjustment(!) |

It doesn't happen on nearby roads, so the "only when on route" decision seems to be working.
It's just that on major roads the slip road and roundabout etc. seem to be included in the "junction" so are considered part of the actual route. |

if you have "only when on route" set for warnings you will only get a warning when you have a route set.
To get warnings without a route set you have to uncheck "only when on route" and then you will get a warning when you are within the distance you have set for the warnings. you will get the warnings as soon as you get within the circle of the POI |

I think you'll find the majority of users here are aware of the function of the 'on route' option.
The point here is that the cams being highlighted are not on the route and the 'on route' option has been set. |

I get this problem too, but somehow it's not entirely consistent. There's a mobile on the northbound entry slip to M'way which doesn't shout as I go past it on M'way, not using the slip. It shouts as I come back southbound!! Weird. _________________ Dennis
