tomtom one backup / restore on different unit question

Hi

my TomTom One is being replaced due to a couple of problems ... but how easy will it be to restore all the settings, POIs, replaced sounds etc?

Is it simply a case of restoring the old backup to the new unit or will i have to be selective in what i copy over?

The POI's are easy, just copy the OV2 and BMP Files to the new Map Folder.

Your settings are held in the CFG File that is also in the Map Folder. It really depends on which Map Version you had on the old Device and which Version will be on the new one.

In the new Maps it's called Mapsettings.cfg, and in the old Maps it was Map_Name.cfg

So mapsettings.cfg contains all the settings - for example - which POI alerts (obviously not the sounds, but the settings for them) etc
