Hi All,

I have recently installed Navigator 6 on my MPV3100 and find that it frequently freezes when entering addresses. The problem appears to be worse if I try and enter the address quickly with the stylus.

If I hit the phones "OK" button and get back to the start screen, and then select the tom tom hands at the bottom right, it is unfrozen.

Any clues - is this a map issue (I have the Western Europe Map)

Ben

It does this on my V1605 from time to time. A quick flick of the "Windows" button seems to do the trick! The menu drops down and disappears again - and TT6 is out of the hang.

It is the pocket PC version that I have installed.

Thanks for the advice on the windows button. Hadn't tried that and it is better than going back to the today screen.

Any advice on how to resolve the issue completely would be appreciated though.

I think I've noticed this happening if I tap the screen quickly.

After a bit of testing, i have found that it does not freeze when using the built in keypad, so the issue must be something to do with the touch screen.

Anyone out there got any ideas?

Have same problem with my M3100, could be all the Orange gunk that is on the device slowing the running up of the TTN6 software.

I find that if you leave it a few seconds (30 or so) to settle it doesn't appear to lock up whilst entering navigation details..

Another point re TT and M3100. I've had it lock up whilst driving, pressing the red call end button seems to restart the software, the voice still works but not the screen display. I then just have to restart the software. It happend so often that I set up a voice command with my BT headset to run it up....Much safer than trying to prod the screen even though it is in a Brodit mount...

May be due to something running in the back ground as up until this weekend I had Activsync firing up for no apparent reason on it's own. I learn now that it is something to do with how microsoft configured it to work. I have now used the FAKE SERVER trick and all appears well ....

SO FAR !!

Don't know if that is of any help.. Phil

Thanks for the response.

I have started to find that if I leave the software running for a while (as you say 30 secs) it was starting to settle down a bit. I am a little concerned over the issue of it locking up completely on a long journey.

I haven't tried a long journey yet, only round town.

Anyway I guess many of these issues may be why TT dont support the M3100 officially yet.

Lets wait and see if an update comes round
