Hi,

I updated the speed camera database and I think everything went OK. The next time I went for a trip however, I found that although the visual warning of a camera came up on the screen, there was no warning sound.

I have gone into Warn When Near POI, and all of the Pocketgps entries have a speaker icon next to them, and under Enable/disable POIs all of Pocketgps are enabled.

Is the lack of warning sound a setting I can alter, or did I not do the update correctly?

Btw, the volume is up.

If you are using Warn When Near, you don't need them Enabled as well.;)

Is there an Icon on Page 2 of the Change Preferences that says Turn on Sound. Just a thought.

Yeah - they don't sound when sound is off. Sounds obvious, but to be honest - it annoys me.

I dont like to navigate with voice prompts on, but I do want it to chime on speed cams. Seems I cant have one without the other.

Yes you can. One of two options.

If you delete a (foreign?) voice it will become greyed out. However you can still choose it for your directions voice, but you will just get no sounds.

Alternatively you can download a silent voice and choose that - not sure whether it is available on this site or at http://www.tomtomsatnav.info/

Either way you can then turn your volume back on and have no directions instructions but still have warnings.
