Just picked up on this thread. I have exactly the same problem. I connect my 910 to the computer and it beeps as if connected, the screen on my TomTom has a cross on for a few seconds and the normal things happen. I then go to turn on my Tomtom on the PC screen and there is no red button to press, so I cannot turn it on. it worked before the last PC upgrade.
This is a major problem as it is now currently impossible to upgrade the software on my Tomtom from the 6.110 it is on to the latest. |

In the Program Files/TomTomHOME Folder there will be a ServerError.txt File. What does this say? _________________ Richard

That Login connects you to your Registered Account with TT. It then knows which component it needs to Download.
If the same happens when you are connected, it probably means that your Firewall is blocking HOME. _________________ Richard

Not much of a problem 'cos I aint gonna buy the latst maps, or subscribe to Tomtoms traffic service - but when I click on 'em (in Home) i just get the "The communication with the server was lostt while the server was sending information" error. I'm logged in, and everyhitng else seems to work fine. But this..... anyone with the same problem? Cheers [619] |

I am also having a problem loggin on to TomTom Home.
I have had a look at the Server Error File as suggested. This is the last entry:-
SERVER ERROR (Fri Oct 27 21:10:05 2006):
connection error
Request: ServiceDiscoveryRequest. Reply: ServiceDiscoveryReply
Server: "sweet.tomtom.com". Path: "/cens/sweet/sd/"
Can anybody help? |

to the forum
I have the same problem and posted a similar message earlier this month after extensive checks on firewall/wireless router and a whole host of other red herrings the cause of the error is down to my isp Talktalk (2mb Broadband) i know someone else was having the same problem on BT
try the following do you get to the help page if you don't then the isp is not allowing connection http://sweet.tomtom.com/help i have raised a support request after 10 days not even an aknowledgement.
My solution is to connect via modem using 0825 number to isp UK2, home connects no bother . |

Thank you for your swift response.
I have tried the link in your message to the help page and it won't connect.
I am on Wanadoo Broadband, I will also raise the issue with TomTom Support. |
