Yesterday I got the above satnav, I was going to get a tomtom one Europe but this one had places of interest and more Easton Europe coteries and was a little cheaper. I could not actually find a tomton one in Bristol.

I got it because I am working in Brussels and would be mainly using it for finding places while on foot. I Tried it out in Bristol UK and it seemed o work well. The problem really started when I tried to use it in Brussels. I came out of the Metro and tried to get it to take me to my flat, around a 10 minute walk in central Brussels. During this walk it did not get a satellite signal once! I then looked on the web for any reviews of this satnav and could not find any. I was also trying to work out what chipset it used for the satnav side of things without any luck.

Have a mode a bad choice. I have come across the term 'Urban Canyon' which I believe refuses to cities with tall buildings. It seems my satnav is not good in this situation. Has anyone else got experience of satnav in central Brussels or which satnavs are best for this type of city use?

Any thoughts?
Ben

If you switched your unit off in Bristol and then on when you got to Brossels it will take some time to find out where it now is because it has to update all of its almanac info. That is standard with all GPS units.

Another question - do you have a seemless Europe map or do you have to change between country maps?

Actualy it is better than the tomtom with the SiRF II chipset. I did not realise it can a minute or to to work out where it is whan you first turn it on. Have posted a review.
